Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do you know if filler is still there?

Fillers gradually degrade after treatment, but because they absorb water, you will still notice them. Around the middle of their expected life, you will start to notice the fillers reduce.

  • Do fillers hurt the next day?

You may experience some redness, tenderness, bruising and swelling to the injected area, however this should reduce after 1-2 weeks.

  • Can fillers move after 5 days?

Dermal fillers usually do not move after treatment. You practitioners may suggest gently massaging the injected area to ensure even distribution and prevent lump formation.

  • Will filler go down in 4 days?

You should start to see swelling reduce around 1 week post treatment; however swelling could be apparent for up to 4 weeks post treatment.

  • Is swelling worse the day after filler?

Swelling will peak between 24-72 hours after your treatment and can last for between 1-4 weeks.

  • Does filler go down after a week?

You should see an improvement after 1 week, and swelling should be considerably lower after 2 weeks.

  • Does your face go back to normal after fillers?

Whilst filler may stretch the skin a little, causing it to look smoother, as you start to lose this filler, your skin should be elasticated enough to go back to its original state before treatment.

  • Do you need less filler over time?

From our mid 30's, we lose around 1cc of volume in our face per year. For this reason, it is expected that a client will need 1 syringe of filler for each decade of their life for a full correction.

  • How do you look immediately after filler?

You can expect some slight swelling and your lips may look a little uneven. This should subside after around 3 days.

  • Do fillers make you look older over time?

When used incorrectly, fillers can have a negative impact on your skin, giving your older looking skin. When used correctly, they will give you a softer and youthful look.

  • Why does my filler only last a week?

If you have a faster metabolism, your filler is likely to break down quickly as it is absorbed by your body.

  • How long does it take for face fillers to settle?

Your fillers could take up to 4 weeks to settle completely. It will depend on the type of filler used and your lifestyle.

  • Why did my filler go away so fast?

Dermal fillers are made from hyaluronic acid - a naturally occurring substance in the body. This means your metabolism will break it down. You may have a faster metabolism than others.

  • How long does it take for fillers to smooth out?

You will typically see results after 1-2 weeks, however swelling and bruising can take up to 4 weeks to settle completely.

  • Does drinking water help fillers?

Staying hydrated and drinking plenty of water will help water absorption of hyaluronic based fillers, helping treated areas stay plump and free of wrinkles.

  • Do fillers look better after a few days?

Best results of dermal fillers are normally seen after 1-2 weeks post treatment as swelling and bruising will have mostly dissipated by this time. It can, however, take up to 4 weeks to completely settle.

  • How long does temple filler last?

Temple fillers will usually last between 18-36 months, however this will depend on the type of dermal filler used and your metabolism.
