A Year in Review 2023 | Natural Skin Treatments

What a fast-paced 2023 for Imperial Aesthetics

It’s amazing to think that 2023 is nearly over – this year has gone so quickly! Imperial Aesthetics has had an incredible year, from talks with like-minded professionals in our industry, a brilliant Black Friday Sale to becoming a clinician at the prestigious London Clinic Ouronyx.

In 2023, we have worked hard to bring our new and existing clients a range of innovative new natural skin treatments including Aqualyx, HArmonyCa, Ameela Polynucleotides hair loss treatments and our Observ Skin Scanner. We have grown, not only in size and profit, but in our client list, which we are so grateful for.

Dr Daniel Hunt has been imparting his knowledge and expertise by teaching with Cosmetics Courses and Allergan. He has also attended and completed the ‘Pathway to Expertise’, with the world-renowned Mauricio de Maio.

Dr Hunt rounded off an incredibly busy year by saying goodbye to his Harley Street Clinic and joining his esteemed colleagues at Ouronyx. He continues to grow his client list at this renowned clinic and looks forward to starting 2024 with the team.

For our final blog of the year, we have taken a look back at some of our previous advice, news and guidance from 2023.

We introduced Aqualyx Injections to our Chalfont St Giles Clinic

Aqualyx injections are a safe, effective fat-dissolving treatment that offers long-term results. It can be used to reduce fat cells in stubborn pockets of stubborn fat around the chin, chest, abdomen and thighs by injecting a special solution that targets only adipose tissue in those areas. This method of body contouring and skin tightening is the perfect way to create a perfectly contoured silhouette without surgery.

At Imperial Aesthetics, we have had extensive training in Aqualyx fat-dissolving injections. Our team offer our patients one-to-one consultations initially to fully understand their goals and expectations for the procedure before introducing Aqualyx injections as an option. By accessing our unlimited support throughout your journey with us to answer any questions or uncertainties you may have, you can rest assured that these injections will be tailored to meet your needs best.

We gave advice on how to protect your skin from sun damage

Paths to improved health come in many forms, and one of those important forms is limiting exposure to ultraviolet (UV) rays from the sun. UV rays can cause skin cancer, premature ageing, cataracts, and other medical issues. To protect yourself, you should follow a few guidelines.

Your natural skincare treatments team recommends using sunscreen with an SPF 30 or greater to protect against UV radiation. Make sure to purchase a broad-exposure product that defends against both UVA and UVB rays for maximum protection. In addition, get to know your body: pay attention to its reactions from being out in the sun so you can understand how much time it’s safe for you to stay in direct sunlight.

For those times when it’s not possible to avoid being out in the sun, seek shade whenever possible and wear protective clothing such as hats, long-sleeved shirts, and trousers when necessary. Following these simple recommendations can make all the difference in keeping healthy and protecting your skin from further damage due to exposure to sunlight.

We talked Tixel on Skin Pigmentation Day 2023

Tixel is an award-winning form of skin rejuvenation technology and involves gently stamping a small, heated metal plate with tiny pyramid-shaped cones onto the skin’s surface. This increases the temperature of the skin temporarily, creating tiny channels directly into the skin, which breaks down the overload of melanin, causing your sunspots. The maintained temperature prevents any damage to deeper tissues while delivering active ingredients that address specific concerns such as pigmentation, rosacea, or acne scarring.

Tixel can be used on a variety of areas, such as the face, neck, decolletage, hands and around the eyes, without having to worry about discomfort or risk associated with laser or needling treatments. A Tixel treatment is perfect for those looking to rebalance uneven skin pigmentation and melasma. A course of Tixel treatment is recommended to tackle your skin pigmentation. During your first treatment, the treatment works to break down dark patches, turning them slightly pinker in tone. During your following treatments, you will see the pink tone begin to blend with your natural skin tone.

The Menopause became a big focus for us in 2023

The menopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life that marks the end of her reproductive years. While most people are aware of the hormonal changes and potential symptoms associated with menopause, such as hot flashes and mood swings, the impact on skin appearance is often overlooked. The hormonal fluctuations during menopause can significantly affect the skin, leading to various changes that may require attention and care. Understanding how the menopause can affect your skin can help you adapt your skincare routine and seek appropriate treatments to maintain a healthy and vibrant complexion.

Dryness: As oestrogen levels decline, the skin can become dry, itchy, and more sensitive. This is because oestrogen helps to maintain the skin’s moisture barrier, and without it, the skin can lose moisture more easily.

Wrinkles: As collagen production decreases, the skin may become less elastic, leading to the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Age spots: Hormonal changes can also cause an increase in the production of melanin, leading to the appearance of age spots or hyperpigmentation.

Thinning skin: Oestrogen also helps to maintain the thickness of the skin, and without it, the skin can become thinner and more fragile.

As oestrogen levels decline during menopause, the skin can become looser and less firm. Non-surgical skin tightening procedures can be an effective way to tighten and firm the skin without undergoing invasive surgery. These procedures use heat energy to stimulate collagen production in the skin, which can help tighten and firm the skin over time. Non-surgical skin tightening procedures are typically performed on the face and neck, but they can also be used on other areas of the body, such as the arms and thighs.

Menopause is not an end but a new beginning. It’s an opportunity to embrace change, discover unique aspects of yourself, and redefine what beauty means to you. At Imperial Aesthetics, we’re here to support you on this empowering journey, helping you to shine in your own unique way.

We want to protect you against unregulated practices and counterfeit products

In today’s world, counterfeit products have become a prevalent issue in various industries, including the beauty and natural skin treatments market. With the growing popularity of skincare and aesthetics treatments, the demand for high-quality products has soared. Unfortunately, this surge in demand has also attracted unscrupulous individuals who produce and distribute counterfeit aesthetics products. These fraudulent products pose significant dangers to your skin, health, and overall well-being. This blog post will explore the risks associated with counterfeit aesthetics products and the importance of purchasing authentic skincare products from reputable sources.

While the aesthetics industry has undoubtedly provided transformative results for many, concerns surrounding the industry’s regulation have also surfaced. Presently, in the United Kingdom, the aesthetics industry remains largely self-regulated, relying on voluntary codes of conduct and professional bodies to maintain standards. However, with the exponential growth in popularity and the evolving nature of aesthetic treatments, the question arises: When will the government step in to regulate the aesthetics industry?
